Punch Projects
Client: DestinationCore: Creative agency based in Ipswich.
Project: Podcast Series (Pro-Capture package)
The DestinationCore team approached Punch Studios to record a seven-episode ‘Destination Unknown’ travel podcast series, with video and audio components. Tight schedules meant the team needed to condense the recording into just a few short sessions, without compromising on quality.
We provided a fully pre-set Podbooth environment as part of our Pro-Capture package, so the team could walk in and start recording straight away. Working across three focused two-hour sessions, we captured rich, high-quality content, making the process as smooth and stress-free as possible.
With this package specifically, the team could focus on creativity and delivery while we handled all the technical aspects on the day. By the end of the sessions, they had everything they needed to craft seven polished podcast episodes themselves.
Will Wright - Managing Partner & Product Director at DestinationCore: We worked with Jake and the team on our Destination Unknown podcast. We had great fun recording the sessions, and a big part of that was how helpful and friendly Jake was. We were pleased with the end result and the recording was very professional.
Client: Running Club: Five piece band from Ipswich
Project: New single for release (Recording and Mixing two-day session)
Running Club came to Punch Studios to record a new single for release, with a crystal clear idea of how they wanted it to sound. They were looking for a professional, radio-ready recording and mixing experience that captured their energy and stayed true to their vision.
The band spent two days with the Punch team experimenting with arrangements and refining their sound. By the end of the sessions, they not only had the single they initially came to record, but walked away with two fully captured tracks and the beginnings of a third, ready for future development.
Nick Gloaguen - bass in Running Club: “Recording at Punch Studios was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Jake, the Studio Manager and Head Engineer, was incredibly supportive throughout the entire process, making sure we understood every decision that needed to be made during the recording sessions. He gave us plenty of opportunities to discuss the vibe we wanted for each track and offered valuable suggestions on different recording techniques, always explaining the pros and cons so we could make informed choices.
What really stood out was the effort Jake made to build a genuine rapport with every member of the band. It completely removed any chance of the divide between the band and the engineer, creating a relaxed, collaborative atmosphere that made the whole recording process enjoyable. We'd highly recommend Punch Studios to any band looking for a professional, welcoming, and creative recording experience. Jake will invest the time ensuring you get the perfect sound and will conceptualise creative ideas tailored to your music. You can tell he’s passionate about his work.”

Project: Regular rehearsal space (Rehearsal Rooms)
Arms To Oblivion were looking for a local, reliable, fully-equipped space where they could rehearse at times that suited their busy schedule.
We quickly set them up with a weekly slot in Punch 2, providing them with a flexible space to perform, experiment, and develop their sound. Over the past three years, they’ve become a regular fixture at Punch Studios, developing a strong working relationship with the team here in Ipswich.
Our spacious, relaxed rehearsal rooms give the band freedom to refine their ideas, build confidence, and shape their performance on a regular basis.
Doug Warren - Lead singer of Arms To Oblivion: “Punch Studios never fail to be anything other than massively accommodating, professional, and BEYOND helpful. My band, Arms To Oblivion, have been using the rehearsal rooms and recording facilities there for knocking on a decade and just won't use anywhere else anymore; why change from somewhere that works so well for us? The equipment in the rehearsal rooms is to a very high standard and is always well maintained. The rooms themselves are always clean, tidy, and with good attention to detail as regards temperature and sound. The kitchen and bathroom facilities are a godsend, I’ve forgotten to bring a bottle of water with me on more than one occasion! For live recording sessions we'd massively recommend using the guys too, they made ATO sound like we ACTUALLY do!!! Quality was superb too.
What can I say, Punch? Just keep being you and doing what you do! A+++++”
